I was in a REALLY bad motorcycle accident a little more than 3 years ago. I wont bore you with the laundry list of broken bones and beat up organs. Pretty much I will have to walk with a cane for the rest of my life due to severe chronic pain in my left ankle. I have tried just about EVERY prescription pain medication on the market, and unfortunately the only prescription that consistently does a very good job at dulling the pain is large amounts of oxycontin (I have subsequently developed a very extreme tolerance to all opioids). Since I am only 28 years old, no doctor is comfortable prescribing these to me. Is there ANY doctor out there that can help me?! Thank you!
I have to agree that you need the stronger meds. to dull the pain it sounds very painful and you are correct you need a pm doc. I assume you have a computer so I would try entering good pain doctors in Sacramento, CA see what pops up I did this for my hubby and found him a real good pain doc in austin,tx. I hope this helped in some way good luck Andrew_B.
