On sub 8/2's twice a day for 5 months, shrink who writes my scripts talked me into continuing use when I wanted to quit after only using film for a few weeks to get off oxy's and hydro's.
Can one taper using Sub Film, if yes ...how? Can film pieces be kept fresh?

this is just a consideration, but i thought just like you , take the subs just long enough to make it easier to stop taking everything .ill tell you the truth,i did that a couple of times and it worked. the only problem with that , is that you get off of everything so easy, that in a couple of weeks , almost everyone i know , including myself, re-lapsed because , i thought ,well what the heck, that was easy to do,so, almost everybody, including myself, relapsed, because it was such an easy way to drop everything. the problem is that you think to your self, well , if its that easy ,well then,i can have more pills, illegally, of course, and just do the same process over again. i have found ,and my dr. agrees, that it takes a couple of months of taking sub films to actually get used to not taking whatever it was that u were taking. im at month 6 of taking buprenorphine, which is generic for the films that u were taking. in another couple of sessions with my dr., im going to ask him about the tapering down method... it is a very slow taper, about 1 quarter less a pill,,<8 mg>,every month. basically , u decrease your dosage about a quarter of your dose per month,so as to GRADUALLY, VERY GRADUALLY, lower your dose every month. i think this is what my dr. has in mind for me.and i hope it works. because we all know how hard it is <honestly> when you cant sleep from wds,but , ihave a feeling ,that with a slow, really slow taper ,it just might work. my dr. & i have discussed this, and he seems to agree, more or less..its hard , but , if your truly sick of taking meds for an extended amount of time, this method usually works... if u truly are sick of letting something run your life like i am, you will succeed. it just takes dedication, true dedication. good luck, and feel free to write back with any suggestions u may have, if u think they might work, my name is mike and youre not alone, call me anytime 760-464-4511, and good luck, another thing , you trully haVE TO WANT TO QUIT.
Thanks for your input Mike, I am 65 and just spent the last 10 years eating a mix of 120 ml of a combo hydro's and oxy's per Day! In that 10 years I had wd's only twice and thought I was going to die. I was also taking benzo's... this past memorial day my PTSD (earned in Nam) went balistic on me and the VA screwed up my meds and I ended up with benzo wd's, it was hell times 10! After a week of hell from the Benzo wd's I went to rehab to stop the opiates, they used saboxone and I thought it was a miracle, they never told me it was addicting! in any event now i'm in fear of wd's when stopping the saboxone. I don't think I have to much longer to live and I want to leave this world drug free! Thanks for responding, I may post part of this answer to you as an addition to my original question. Riverbear.
