Can you take Tramadol in place of suboxone? For example, if you run out of suboxone, can Tramadol be taken in a pinch to combat any withdrawal symptoms associated with suboxone?
Dear Bella welcome to the site. No one should do that for several reasons. A dose of 8 mg of subs blocks opiates and quells carving and withdrawal for 2 to 4 days after the last subs dose, so, unless someone was out of subs for over 2 days, they are not going to have withdrawal. The second reason is that you will have to go back into withdrawal for 24 hours to restart the subs. The third reason is people take suboxone to help heal their brains of the extra MU receptors, if you mess around with tramadol or any other opiate/opoid, you are setting yourself up for relapse. This is a bad idea, I hope you won't do this. Some people have seizures when stopping tramadol also, really bad idea to take it while in the suboxone program. Patti
