He has been on them for about a year, never took as much as was prescribed to him. He takes less than a quarter of a pill a day. Somedays he forgets to take it. I am being mean to believe it's time?
Yes, your husband can safely taper off Suboxone if he is ready. Slowly reducing his dosage every few weeks from 2 mgs to one mg, then to 1/2 a mg before stopping is possible without having much in the way of withdrawals. If your husband has been in addiction's counseling and believes he is ready to taper off the Suboxone, then by all means he should go for it.
