Hi everyone, this is kind of hard for me to admit but I have been taking 15mg of vicodin and about 30mg of morphine almost daily for the past year. My boyfriend does as well that is how I basicly started and I get them from him. Anyway I have 3 children and need ages 11,3 and 2 who deserve a sober mom and I need to stop doing this. My question is I take 2mg of clonazepam for anxiety and was wondering if that could help me to stop the opiates cold turkey. I am sceared of withdrawl but must do it for myself and my children. This is not fun at all I feel like I need take these pills just to get through the day , Its so sad and I need help. All comments and supprt are greatly apprciated. Thank You...
Dear Alisha, welcome to the site, you are far from alone. Many here have faced the same demon. The clonazepam will help but it won't take all symptoms away. Please google the Thomas recipe opiate withdrawal for a list of over the counter meds and supplements that help the other symptoms and the Thomas recipe should also have a journal written by Thomas chronicling his journey off opiates, read it for more info. Since you haven't abused these meds for long, it may take from a few days to a couple of weeks, but the first few days will be worst, then each day it will get a bit better. I did the suboxone treatment and it does work if it is properly done. Pleae feel welcome to stay here for support, you are not alone and no one will judge you here. Patti
