My eyes feel scratchy and dry during the day after using Combigan drops. Can one use another eyedrop to hydrate the eyes during the day or will that counteract the effects of the Combigan?
Combigan contains a combination of brimonidine and timolol. Brimonidine reduces the amount of fluid in the eye, which decreases pressure inside the eye. Timolol is a beta-blocker that also reduces pressure inside the eye. I would call my Dr. and run it past she or he first. You would use saline drops, 0.9% saline. My only hesitation is that Brimonidine is for reducing the amount of fluid in the eye and you are asking to increase it. You'll be flushing a certain amount of the combigan out of your eyes. Your Dr. may have a better idea.
