Pradaxa helps prevent strokes by "thinning" the blood. Resveratrol can increase bleeding. Does Resveratrol reinforce the Pradaxa effect like it would coumadein?
No, do not take the resveratrol without checking with your doctor first.
Both drugs work in different ways to thin the blood.
Resveratrol inhibits blood platelet aggregation.
Pradaxa inhibits thrombin, an enzyme in the blood that is involved in blood clotting.
Taking the two together could lead to serious bleeding.
