I take 10mg of lexaro and .05mg of alprazolam
To answer your question, yes you can take them together. As far as what is meant by together, you should probably try to take them at separate intervals to reduce any chance of interaction between the two. For example, lexapro may cause drowsiness and xanax, more often than not WILL cause drowsiness. If you seem to be affected by this with one or both, more than another person is, than it may be unsafe causing respiratory depression. I take lexapro myself daily and xanax as needed and have found no problems, however, I take 30mg lexapro before bed and usually need to take the xanax the next day for anxiety spikes. In other words, they're spread out. They should still have only a very small chance of causing any serious interactions. Hope all this helps more than wasting time to read, haha.
