Can I take glucophage after a cat scan with contrast if not why?

No, you should not take Glucophage on the day of your CT scan and should not resume taking it until your doctor has instructed you to do so.

The contrast media is filtered through your kidneys.Your kidney function will be checked after the scan. Assuming your kidney function is normal you will be able to resume taking Glucophage.
This is to prevent kidney damage and a serious reaction called lactic acidosis.
