Januvia is added to a metformin regimen if metformin is failing to control blood sugar effectively.

So, yes, Januvia + Metformin is a rational combination.

Actually Januvia works much better with Glucophage(Metformin)..I take Januvia 100 with Glucophage 1000 once a day at the same time , it helped me not only lower my FS (from 175 to 100)but my A1C as well(from 8.5 to 7.)..Of course after few months..
I used to take JanuMet (a combination of Januvia and Metformin) , but it did not effect as much as they did separately..
