The reason being is I basically have no more money to buy them off the street, I was never precribed them nor had I ever been addicted to other opiates. I started using them and they gave me tons of energy and of course got outta control and pretty much drained our bank account, please help so that I dont destroy my family more than I already have my wife and 10 month old baby!!!
Hello. How much were you using a day? Yes, you could quit cold turkey but it may not be the most pleasant thing to deal with for a few days. The subs can stay in your system for a couple days after your last use. Then you may start to feel withdrawal symptoms which vary person to person. You may find attending group or individual therapy helpful too.
I, like UNLV... would like to know how much sub u were on??? It can be done... it won't kill you... but just be prepared for some WD symptoms.
The good thing with sub as compared to other opiates is that it does not "up regulate" meaning that it does not cause the body to produce extra receptor sites... so it might (don't know for sure) but it might not last as long as other opiates... can anyone else help here?? Would WDing from sub alone last as long as, say oxy or hydrocodone???
Good luck... I applaud you for considering your wife and precious young child... do take care of them and yourself... God Bless you and your dear family...
Hi EasyE, There are 3 things that bother me about your post. (1) the reason you want to quit is you don't have any more "money" to buy Sub's off the street. Saying if I had the money I would buy some more! (2) You are minimizing your addiction by saying you have never been addicted to other opiates. saying well I am not like others I have never been addicted to opiates! (3) That you have pretty much drained your bank account and have hurt your family!! Suboxone is an addictive (opioid) in the class with Morphine,Codeine, and Heroin. I do commend you on wanting to quit. But my friend you are addicted to" opioid's." You have already drained your banking account! you no longer have any more money to buy more. You need to get "serious" about getting this or any other drug.
You have started down that path I have seen many times before, and it is a slippery one indeed! All the reasons you mentioned above your wife and baby were last on the list."Destroy my family more than you already have". I am a long time opioid abuser! A professional person with a awesome carrier, and the medical knollege of all types of drugs. None the less I continued to really abuse these drugs until they wrecked my entire life, and a lot more! The only thing I like about your post is to((( Try not to wreck your wife and child))) More Than you already have! Suboxone is primarily for people wanting to kick an opioid addiction! There are a lot of opioid's out there cheaper than sub's. I am so afraid for you at this moment! By coming here was the best choice you have made in along time!! It took you depleting your bank account, and all most destroying your family, but you made it here! This group of people here, Have saved my life! I am so glad you decided to take some steps and quit this POISON. DO NOT for one second think you are not addicted to opioids, you are. If you don't stop now, God only knows when you will stop. Use this group to say anything that is on your mind, you are going to need a lot of support for awhile. You can draw years of knowledge, Personal experiences, and wisdom right HERE. You have to (AT ALL COST) quit these drugs as soon as possible! Once you are an addict (you are) Always an addict! You are not alone on this battle. You can no longer take any sort of narcotic drug. If you don't stop now it only get's worse! Or you do have the option to quit like I did, Loose everything, wife house kids and a lot more, and end up in the ICU with a tube having to breath for you!! Don't think for one second this cannot happen to me "I only used Sub's" I hope you stay here and get well with us. I will say a prayer for your family and you! You can do it!! Later
