Generally if you start taking a new pack of pills, you won't start your period. It is the placebos or the "inert" pills that allow you to start your period because they don't contain any active ingredients and have no effect on the body. You may have spotting or breakthrough bleeding, but not a full-blown period because you are providing your body with the necessary pregnancy-preventing hormones.
Hope this helps!
