My cat scraches all the time, causing wounds to the skin..
I would recommend omega 3 fish oil which can be purchased at your local Vet Clinic. It has a little pump so you can pump a small amount onto your cats food. It helps with dry skin and can also help with your cat scratching. I would also recommend talking to your Vet and ask them for advice. That's a severe problem and needs to be fixed as soon as you can. If your vet doesn't suggest anything or is not proactive find a new one and get a second opinion. You can give your cat Beadryl but I wouldn't suggest doing that do to the fact that cat's hate taking pills and the lowest dose you can get it only 25mg of benadryl OTC which is way to much for a cat. Talk to your Vet. I hope this helps and I hope your cat gets better soon!
