i give blood every 56days and have recently found out that my iron levels are low, the doctor just put me on ferrous gluconate 1 pill 2 times a day. Is it ok to still gilve blood.
Hey that really great that you give blood so frequently. Wish we could say that about more people who are healthly & able to do so. I'm sorry to say through, that they will turn you away if you are on iron. This is because right now you are low on red blood cells, or hemoglobin. Once your hemoglobin returns to normal & your Dr. tells you no longer need the iron, you will be able to give it again. I am sure it will not be to long before you are back rolling up your sleeve to give the gift of life to someone who is so in need of your donation. Thank you for eveyone in your community for being so dedicated to give such a important gift. Carol
