I rub it in for 4 or 5 minutes until it is tacky. I wait 15 minutes minimum before I put my shirt on. I have even waited half an hour, but my shirt sticks to my skin, sometimes for hours. I tried using a blow dryer, and it worked, but my pharmacist didn't know if this was an acceptable practice. Does this change the way the product works?
If you are asking about testim gel, a testosterone, then yes you can blow dry it. It is alcahol base, used as a drying agent. I use it and have the same issue. I burn wood and have sat by the hot air around the stove to aid in speeding up the dry time. Remember we evaporate moisture from our skin based on the humidity level around us, so you are adding moisture to your skins surface thus increasing the moisture content and adding a gel that is more difficult to dry, so using any way to help increase evaporation will help dry it quicker. The medication its self will not evaporate any more than with normal evaporation time. As far as your shirt sticking to you. I have found that if i wear a cut off shirt there is less material to stick to the gel. The key is to get the substance dry so it has no moisture. The quickest way to do this is to increase the temperature exposure to your skin. The best way to do so is to use a method other than natural evaporation.
A hair dryer is a safe method as well as sitting next to something that increases the temperature and decreases the moisture level on your skin. Another piece of advice is after applying and drying, if you are doing an activity that is producing sweat
you will increase the moisture level on your skin and the medication will rub off on your shirt. I was told by a doctor to try and not sweat for at least two to three hours after applying this medication to avoid loosing it effectiveness. Hope this helps.
