I have been diagnosed with Addison's but am wondering if anything else I am taking could mimic it in my bloodwork? Now my ACTH is high and my Cortisol is also high. Thanks
No. Effexor XR would not be responsible for your results.
Addison's disease is a disorder that occurs when the adrenal glands do not produce enough of their hormones, usually because part of the adrenal glands are damaged.
This damage may be caused by:
The immune system mistakenly attacking the gland (autoimmune disease)
Infections such as tuberculosis, HIV, or fungal infections
Hemorrhage, blood loss
Use of blood-thinning drugs (anticoagulants)
