Can echinacea be taken in conjunction with phenytoin?

There are no known interactions between echinacea and phenytoin. However, I would be very careful in taking anything with Phenytoin, (especially herbal medicines, whose effects probably haven't been studied in detail) as there is a high risk of toxicity with slightly elevated blood levels of phenytoin.
