I have surgery Weds. 18th and I have never had anything like it done. I fell last yr and messed up my joint and broke my collar bone. I have been getting steroid shots in it and pt but the pain only increased. I am rather nervous about having it scoped because people keep telling me it is horrible.
Hi Jesse81, & welcome to the site. Yes this can be a very painful procedure. My hubby as had it done on both shoulders. One two years ago, & the other in last October. He has had a lot of pain, and this sounds terrible, but he deserves it, because he wouldn't do as the doctor tells him to do. He was to go to physical therapy, & he said he did it before, which he didn't. Went one time & thought he knew best what to do. Well to make a long story short I see him rubbing the area right below the shoulder all the time now & he lifts stuff he shoudln't etc... I tell you all this because if you don't follow the instructions you doc gives you, you can make this problem worse & never get better again. They had my hubby in a complete wrap around your waist velcro strap, with his arm & wrist tied to his side. He was suppose to wear this for 3 months. It lasted less than 3 days. Don't be a stubborn mule like my husband & you will do fine. They will give you pain pills to get through the worst of the pain, but it takes time to heal from any major repair job like that so please give it time, & you will do fine...
