I have been taking up to 20 10mg lortabs a day for two+ years. I feel depressed, weak, and completely unmotivated to live my life without those pills. Before I was bubbly, fun to be around, always wanted to meet people, and try new things. Now, I am completely content washing the dishes or any other mundane task after I've swallowed the pills. Today is my second day without them and I've had a stomachache, the sweats, and generalized weakness all over my body. Day1 was terrible. Day 2 was okay. So what can I expect on day three? Any other advice on how to quit lortabs for good without rehab or suboxone would be greatly appreciated.
You may want to google these things, The Thomas Recipe, tis a list of over the counter and RX meds that help during withdrawal. Also google Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome. PAWS is not a life sentence, keep that in mind when you are reading up on PAWS!!
I went cold turkey off of prescribed OxyContin that I took for ten years, at the end I was on 160 mgs of the stuff, and the WD was no picnic I can assure you of that!! But you will live through this!
Also, you can do the taper method if you trust yourself? Have you thought of that? Cold turkey is sort of like ripping off a bandaid, do you want to do it fast or slow? I preferred to just do it fast, thus going cold turkey. I flushed my Oxys down the loo and I was completely ignorant of what was about to happen! I can laugh about it now, and soon you will laugh over this too, I promise!!
If you need any help, just give me a holler! I wish you all the best in your WD off opiates!! Keep posting, for you are helping others without even knowing it! Lots of people read these threads and never post themselves.
I shall add you as a friend, and if you do the same, we can send private messages to each other if you prefer that. No pressure, tis just another option.
