Hi I need help.
I have visited all the doctors in Mexico city (where I live) because I have had this pain for 2 years now. The pain un 24/7 sometimes is not so high sometimes it makes me imposible to move from my bed.
the pain started in the jaw the it continued at the jaw and went up to the temples now it is int the jaw, temples forehead and the top of the head, Maybe because of all the treatments Ive been through (shot in the head beack and face of botox, corticone, and morfine and a thousand of pills)
I went to Hopkins last October they detoxed me and gae me medication that worked the first months but now its the pain its back.
CAN ANYBODY HELP ME???
SOMEONE WITH SIMILAR SYNTOMS WHO IS BETTER??
CAN YOU RECOMMEND A DOCTOR??
Can anybody help me?? I have facial pain?
Hi I need help.
You really need to have this evaluated by a specialist such as a neurologist. It might be something like temperomandibular joint disease or something more serious. Because of the other treatments you have had and your chronic pain, I really recommend you seek further care from a specialized doctor.
From what you wrote, sounds like you are experienced what is known as atypical facial pain, and/or trigeminal neuralgia, the latter for which the generic named drug carbamapazine is prescribed because it is known as the gold standard for treating the symptoms you described. The brand name for this medication is Tegretol. Have you ever been prescribed this medication, and if so, did it help quell the symptoms you described?
Please schedule an appointment to discuss this with you PCP and/or neurologist.
