one of my friends is suffering from psoriatic arthritis. His index finger of both hands is swollen and painful.Currently he is taking methotrexate for it.Is thera any new medication for its treatment? Can clindamycin be given for the treatment of psoriatic arthritis?
I think Cindomycin (not sure) is a drug used for bacteria infection in the body. I think it is injected although I am not real sure. If your friend was given this by his rhumatologist then I certainly can't question it. I have psoriatic arthritis and I have never used this drug. Methotrexate yes, and also Embrel, and Remicaid. Humira is also a good drug for PSA. I am presently on prednisone as I am unable to pay for the cost of the drug (Embrel) that would help me control PSA. My index fingure on my right hand is huge and crooked at the end joint next to the nail. I have several toes the same way. If your friend is not seeing a Dr. who specializes in PSA please incourage them to do so ASAP. The longer you wait the more damage is done to your joints. Also the psosiasis is very hard to keep under control without the latest meds. Good luck to your friend!
