This is used to discourage alcoholics from relapsing. It makes a person violently ill if they drink. Usually a person would take this everyday, like methadone at a clinic and/or like meds in the morning and if you drink, including cough meds or anything with alcohol in it, the sick is not worth the drink I'm sure. I believe there are some antidepressant drugs that have been known to help with this but Gamblers anon would be a good start. This is a very serious thing and should really be treated like everything else. Good Luck.
