Taken wellburtin sr 150 mg to stop smoking before, and had a schedule on cigs per day.
I've been taking Wellbutrin SR 100mg for 2 years and smoke my usual 10 to 15 cigs a day. My husband does and so does a friend of mine. I get a funny taste in my mouth but that doesn't stop me from smoking. another friend of mine used Wellbutrin SR to help her quit smoking, she's been smoke free for 10 months now. hope this helped.
Smoking is fine.
However, your desire to smoke will go away.
The taste will become very, very disgusting to you. Almost to the point of barfing.
Nicotine will NOT be absorbed in your brain. Unlike before when you inhaled, nicotine traveled by blood to your brain. Within seconds you felt a surge of pleasure or energy- that happened because your brain would open "its garage door to the awaiting nicotine."
But once Wellbutrin enters your brain, it SHUTS OFF the part of the brain that nicotine travels too. So, when you inhale, the nicotine is absorbed in your blood, it travels to your brain, then it just sits there. You will not feel any joy at all. The accumlated nicotine then travel downwards via blood to your liver, where it is metabolized and excreted in urine. Since the nicotine had to go through your digestive system to get to the liver, by the time it finally exits the digestive system and reaches the liver, the nicotine is no longer potent; it is broken and useless.
You'll probably change your brand of cigs, take bigger hits, etc. After a few days of this crap, you will throw your cigs away.
