I am stuck at this weight, 20 lbs or more overweight, I am on WW. Two years ago (b/4 I was on thyroid meds), I lost 20 lbs in 6 mos. doing what I'm doing now. I am also exercising. It's as if my body is 'regulated' to stay where it is--up one or two pounds, down one or two pounds... static numbers. Do I need to change meds? Otherwise, I feel fine on this dose of meds. I don't get it! I thought this would increase my metabolism, not make it worse!
Taking levothyroxine should help with weight loss.
When you are hypothryroid your body will decreaes its metabolism, as you increase the amount of thyroid hormone in the body (by adding levothyroxine) your metabolism will increase. This of course is what you said.
Have you had your TSH checked recently to make sure you are in the right range?
Sounds like you just need to do more now, maybe your body has in general decreased its metabolism.
