I used caffergot & sancert for many years! But here in Canada, drug manufacturer Norvartis excluded these drugs due to low sales! I have tried other meds, with little success! are these drugs still available somewhere? I suffer from chronic clusters (Horton's syndrome)Any help would be appreciated!
I also have used Cafergot for years... since 1998. I just found out yesterday after taking a prescription for it into Shoppers Drug Mart, that it has been discontinued in Canada. It's a shame really, it works quickly and never had to take more than 2 for each migraine. The cost I found was excellent as well.
I did however try a sample Maxalt in 2007 and found it work well too, but... they are extremely expensive. $14 - $26 per wafer. So I'm not sure what other options are available for the cost that Cafergot was, but maybe give the Maxalt a try, especially if you have prescription coverage.
