I have been taking celexa 10-20mg for the past 8 years after my son was born and through my recent pregnancy for antenatal and post partum depression/anxiety. The psych just added Buspar 5mg 2-3 x daily. My question is should I take it 3x a day? How long will it take to feel an improvement? Does it work well with Celexa? Any side effects? I feel kinda tired after taking it.
I'm not sure why he ordered it 2-3 a day as its not a drug you can take as needed. You need to take it every day, I would start with 2 times a day, then increase it to 3. It does take a little time for it to reach peak effect. This drug isn't like xanax, its not a benzo. You won't feel tired if you take it that way, after a couple of days you'll be used to it.
Can I ask if you found your depression to be worse. I have been taking celexa for three years with minimal problems and the first weekend in December I had a crisis with depression and anxiety. Doc added buspar 7.5 x 2 a day and the side effects are bothersome but I'm dealing with them but I feel as though it's messing with my depression and my celexa is not even working. Any comments would be appreciated.
