Recently found out i have bi polar. Also ptsd panic attatcks. My doctor started me on nuerrontin twice a day then added atterax three times a day. Yesterday added Buspar twice a day then it will bumped up to three times a day. Im not sure if this is all helping or making things worse. I hardley eat or sleep. Still severly depressed. I go from feeling speedy to sad and exhausted. Now i have to see a psychiatrist who my regular doctor said will put on something else. Isnt there just one pill that will work?
I'm bipolar too. That is quite a bit of medication all at once. When you see a psychiatrist they will know more about the medication usually than yout family physician. Listen to the psychiatrist tell them everything you are on and hopefully they will find a combination that works just for you. Sometimes it does take time. Each medication should be introduced slowly. Also it takes about 2 weeks to be able to tell if a mefication is working for you... good luck
ANGKLA76; Hard to say what the new doctor might give you or adjust doses, It's really too soon to tell how these meds are working on you have to give it a bit more time. And when you see and talk to the new doctor he or she well be able to make the judgement if you need to stay on these or give you something else after you tell the doctor how these are affecting you and your mood. They do have lot of good medications for bi polar and people live a good life and feel much better.
What you have now well help with some of the ups and downs just stick with it and try and get things all settled down when you see the new doctor.Just look at it like it is a mental illness that can be fixed and just knowing something was wrong is a good sign stick with it your not alone this is a very common illness that can be adjusted with meds just like if it were your blood pressure,Or if you had diabetes and that is the way to think of it you just have to get settled in on a med that well make you feel much better and time to adjust to the new medication. Please feel free to post questions lots of great people just like you that have the same problems and try to help each other.Stick with it better days are ahead. Chuck1957
Thank tou both. Im having trouble finding a psychiatrist in my area. The past few days the hopeless feeling has taken over. I feel numb. Plus three weeks ago i lost everything i own including my dog. My house burnt down it was on fire when i came home from an already horrible day at work.
Im not sure these medications are working just making me tired. Ive never takin pills other than blood pressure.sometimes i just want to stop taking all of it
