Was prescribed buspar today in addition to my Celexa. Is this a good combination? Thanks for any help☺
May be a very good fit for you. Only way to know is to try. Doctor has you starting out at the higher end for initial dosing so don't be surprised if you have some side effects such as headache in the beginning. Also, if it hasn't already been explained to you, BuSpar is to always be taken with food or always taken without food, but not alternate between these two ways.
I agree with Laurie. That seems like an awfully high dose to start out on. I've been taking it for a while, and it started to make me feel dizzy, so I had my dose lowered, and it is working much better than it was. My doctor started me out on 5 mg. once a day, and titrated it up gradually to 10 mg. three times a day. Now I am only taking 5 mg. twice a day, and this is a great dose for me. Hope this helps. And, yes, it is good to take with celexa.
chellerae; Yes this is pretty effective for the anxiety, But I do agree with Laurie that you should talk with the doctor to avoid too many side effects when you first start and take it just as she was saying so it is more effective. You can always increase it later just keep in touch with the doctor about how you are taking it.But for sure it well be much easier for you and on your system as you get used to it. Good luck it should work out for you. Chuck1957
