... afternoon/early evening is excruciating. I have tried every prescription and non-prescription remedy I know of with only high dose Clonapin giving short mild relief. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm desperate! Has anyone tried medical marijuana for pain relief? Thanks
Have you got a more specific diagnosis?
Did the doctor say what caused it?
What specialist has he seen?
It's strange how pain worsens in the evening with so many syndromes.
Is he losing sleep ?
Does any of his family members have anything similar ?
Do you think the smoke from marijuana may increase the pain? He could take it orally though.
I would focus more on treating the actual cause of it before getting onto a chronic pain regimen. It's important mentally to think that it will go away compared to having a disease that you will have the rest of your life.
I would definitely see a neurologist if you haven't yet.
I'm sorry not to be of more help.
I am so sorry that you have this. I was diagnosed with this over two years ago and have been suffering nonstop every minute of every day so I understand what you're going through. I have tried everything that I could possibly try over these past two years. I was recently seen at the Mayo Clinic and was diagnosed definitively and told that there is no cure. They currently have me on 2700 mg of gabapentin and 1 mg clonazepam three times a day. It does help a bit but you have to put up with the side effects. There are days I can't even remember my own phone number! I have an appointment with my doctor to look into medical marijuana.
