Have been on Wellbutrin (brand) for 20 years with good results, but when I tried generic (bupropion HCL XL) found it didn't work the same at all - and learned that it was because the generic was not time-release.
Because of enormous price of (brand) Wellbutrin, I went back to get generic (bupropion) and try again. But this time noticed on the label that the bupropion prescriptions says "24 HR" on it (bupropion HCL XL 24HR 150 MG TAB DR.R)...

Does this mean the formula for bupropion (generic) has changed, to become time-release and would therefore be exactly the same as Wellbutrin brand?

Thank you.
