Buprenorphine is an opioid agonist/antagonist. It is not anticoagulent or anti-inflammatory but it is VERY important that the anesthesiologist and surgeon know you are on it well before surgery because it can affect your anesthesia and it can make pain control difficult after surgery because it will block any other opioids from the receptors so they dont work as well. This definitely something your Drs need to be aware that you are using well BEFORE surgery because it stays active in your system a long time.
