You didn't mention which specific heart medication you are on but if you are on a blood thinner like Warfarin then this might be the information you are looking for. Anticoagulants (Blood Thinners)

Warfarin (Coumadin)

Food: Avoid alcohol. Avoid foods high in Vitamin K: beef liver, oils and green leafy vegetables (broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage, collards, spinach). Brussel sprouts are very high in vitamin K

Herbs: Avoid Black Cohosh, Dong Quai, Evening Primrose, Feverfew, Flaxseed Oil and Ginkgo as they increase the risk of bleeding. Do not take St. John’s Wort as it may decrease the desired effect.
