I broke a tooth and it is impacted. Well now it is infected and I am in absolute severe pain. I have been to the doctors twice and they have me on 800mg ibuprofen, amoxaciline and norco. Nothing is working. These pain medications are not even touching the pain. I have done every know home remedy I could think of too. I don't know what else to do. Please help me it hurts soo bad :'-( I haven't slept in 3 days the pain hurts so much. What can I do please someone tell me what I can do to ease the pain atleast until my dentist appt.
First off I'm so sorry for you because I know how you feel and I can't stand to have such horrible tooth pain! It's happened more than once unfortunately because I have no dental insurance but the drug store CVS or whatever is by you sells a little kit called Red Cross Toothache kit with Natural Eugenol (whatever the heck that is) but it's a small bottle of some terrible tasting stuff that has some little pieces of cotton and small tweezers with it and you get the cotton wet with that Eugenol liquid and place it on the affected area as the directions say and it will work, I promise you the pain will go away you can even eat and drink without pain for a little while but I wouldn't go crazy with it lol
You can use it again as you feel the need but it last a long time, when I first put the cotton on my tooth it kinda hurt because my tooth was so painful anything touching it hurt but that didn't last but a second, follow the instructions and you will get relief. Hang in there and keep taking the antibiotic.
I'm going through the same thing right now. Idk if you're still suffering but I've found something that has really really worked for me personally... listerine. I've tried EVERYTHING from warm salt water, hydrogen peroxide, garlic/cayenne pepper paste, chewing raw onion, and ice water. WARNING DO NOT DO ICE WATER or put anything freezing on the tooth!!! At first it relieves the pain immediately, but you have to constantly keep drinking ice water to keep the pain at bay, which is a real problem when you're going to bed... because once your mouth/tooth warms up the pain comes back with a terrible vengeance!!! Omg the pain from that was so bad I was bawling rivers... I read from another commenter on here to try soaking listerine in your mouth for at least 10 minutes. I had tried everything else and it all worked but it didn't last, so this was my last resort other than smashing my jaw out of my face, so I tried it.
IT WORKED! I cried tears of literal happiness, so far it's lasting longer than the other remedies and when it feels like it *might* start hurting again, I do listerine again and it's good. My dentist won't be able to get to my tooth until a couple weeks but I'm relieved now that I have a good remedy to help me thru this time. I hope you and anyone reading this tries it and it helps you too because I personally am dealing with that horrible pain & understand how desperate yall are to relieve the pain in any way!
Try using peanut butter just put it on the broken tooth i also have a broken tooth and it hurt really bad but i tryed something new and it was peanut butter. And it really worked for me hope this helps
I have a broken tooth from a partial root canal where the filling came out and part of the tooth broke off, so now I have a hole. When I have an ache in the tooth, its really unbearable. I put orajel on it and after a couple minutes, it helps. Also, its helpful if you brush the tooth when it hurts because some food particles can press in the exposed nerves and make the pain worse.
