I have been taking 15 mg of Viibryd for almost three years. I was just taken off Viibryd. I started 5 mg of Brintellix yesterday. (Within an hour of taking the med, I had a pounding headache.) I'm switching meds because too much Viibryd caused weight gain and too little didn't truly help my depression and anxiety. Either way, the med killed my sex drive. I'm looking for positive, constructive feedback about Brintellix. Thanks.

Follow up (8 hrs. after my original post): I had to take 10 mg of Xanax this morning because my anxiety shot through the roof! I also had to take 1000 mg acetaminophen to quell the pounding headache. It's 24 hours after I first took 5 mg of Brintellix and 8 hours after I took Xanax and Acetaminophen; I'm still having a problem with anxiety and headaches and need to take MORE Xanax and acetaminophen before I go to bed.. I've already contacted my provider. Please let me know if you've had a similar experience but my own body may have answered my own question!
I was on Viibryd for a few years, and I know that when you suddenly stop taking it you get massive headaches. This is mentioned in the lit, and I am surprised you doctor did that to you. Please ask about this right away. Viibryd is very sensitive to when you take it and you must taper off or the symptoms you are describing can hit hard.
Brintellix is much less sensitive to when you take it, but has some start up nausea. Also Brintellix has an interaction with NSIDS so be careful what you take for that headache. Again, you need to talk to your doctor.
Mine did what you are suggesting with a different combination (can’t remember it now), that put me in the emergency room due to the headache. The doctors were afraid I was having a stroke. When your head hurts enough that you want to squeeze it in a door to stop the pain, you know something is wrong.
See your doctor right away about both the issue you are describing.
