My Dr. said Brintellix is related to Trazadone. I can't believe that and think he is confused. Any knowledge on the subject??
What I get from this question is the need for a Doctor you can trust, if the relationship is such that you are driven to seek verification of his opinions/decisions on the web, I would say you would be in much better hands with a physician whose decisions you are confident with, without any question at all. Most are that way, especially family physicians so it should not be hard for you to make the change.
brintellix is NOT like trazodone!! brintellix is a unique formulary, it is not an ssri, and works on five areas of the brain, more than any other antidepressant out there. it is very strong. trazodone i have taken for 2 years. it is mild antidepressant that contains serotonin. both meds contain serotonin, which is why i just had serotonin syndrome from the combo of these two drugs. get with your doctor or preferably, another doctor, on this. there is no way you can compare the two drugs. Unless, he meant that both of them contain serotonin.
