... mentioned to me
It appears to have failed in clinical trails for anxiety disorders. As of June 2016 the name will change to Trintellix. Same drug just a different name. It is new to the antidepressant market. You may want to ask your doc why he thought that Brintellix would be an option, unless all other antidepressants that target anxiety disorders have failed for you or the side effects suck too much. This would be prescribed off label, as it is not prescribed for anything else but MDD-Major Depressive Disorder.
Best to You :)
feloman1; Yes I do agree with Jane too It Is more for off label use but I have seen a lot of people that have had much success for GAD and wonder why it took the doctor so long to try this so it's still a hit and miss but I think it would be worth a try. And more so because after trying several other medications without luck it might be more effective in your case. Also the new name that it well be known under is only because of many error's due to the fact another prescription name is too close to this one and was causing errors. Just like others I have seen over the years not many people know but the common name for
clonazepam brand Klonopin
Klonopin was first on the market as brand name Clonopin and they changed the name on that because it was mixed up with another so the C was changed to a K. to avoid the prescription errors.
