I was just switched from Pristiq to Brintellix. I took Pristiq at night. What do others recommend? I am very sleep sensitive and other meds have kept me awake at night.
Pattyx follow the directions for how many you take here is the normal dose.for it. Brintellix dosing information
Usual Adult Dose for Depression:
Initial dose: 10 mg orally once a day
Maintenance dose: 20 mg orally once a day
Maximum dose: 20 mg orally once a day
Comments: 5 mg orally once a day may be considered for patients who do not tolerate higher doses... Make sure you check with your doctor if you have problems switching from the 2 drugs... IT SAYS TO TAKE IN THE MORNING MOST PEOPLE HAVE A HARD TIME SLEEPING IT THEY TAKE IT AROUND BEDTIME BUT SEE HOW IT WORKS FOR YOU If you take anything like anti inflamatorys stop taking such as ibuprofen-naproxen-asprin-there are lots more so check with doctor or pharmacist before taking if in dought..so again mornings and exactly take like your box or label say Any problems check with your doctor... hope this helps
I experimented with the time of my doses and found that if I take it around 9PM it actually helps me sleep by around 12, however when I take it during the day it does not make me groggy. Just enjoy the perk of falling asleep a little easier! 100% SSRIs are said to cause fatigue anyways so I would take it at night.
Trintellix is not an SSRI
