... 250mg ( oral antibiotic ) for 5 days and also Guaifen/Codein 100-10mg as needed. My baby is 10 months old and im still nursing, is it safe to take these medicines? Thank you for your respond!
Please see the links below and hopefully it gives you more information. If you have any questions or are in doubt then it is best to consult your doctor.
I took antibiotics off and on while I successfully nursed 3 kids. While a person shouldn't take anything while nursing, it's the long-term-even the mid-term use that messes babies up.You told the doctor-right? Of course they have to tell you the side-effects. I'm sure that the pharmacy also advised you of side-effects. That's there job. But you went to a doctor because you are sick, you need to get well and take care of your baby, and make sure that your baby doesn't get sick. I used to drink GI gin for coughs and took penicillin-all prescribed by Navy doctors, while nursing. GI gin was a mixture of vodka, codeine, and terpine hydrate. The FDA said the Terpin hydrate was the dangerous med-but it really got rid of persistent coughs-that were so bad a person started vomiting. good luck-get Well- and hug your baby
