Had modified radical and 17 nodes and rt breast removed. Reason for shots Lupus (SLE) and arthritis and Sciatica.
I am a cancer survivor (ALL) and have several autoimmune diseases. I have had a couple of cortisone shots for pain and they were extremely effective in reducing inflammation and by doing so reducing/eliminating the pain. I have been told to view them as a "silver bullet" and to avoid repeated injections in the same area primarily because of the damage repeated steroid treatments can do to tendons, ligaments and other joint tissues. However the same doctor told me to absolutely make use of the injections when the pain is tremendous and mobility is impaired and not to wait until I'm in absolute agony. That has proven to be pretty good advice. One of the injections was two years ago, the first was 13 years ago. I had no side effects from either.
