I have been on Zoloft for several months now for PPA and obsessive racing thoughts. 100 mg has been my magic dose and has been great for awhile. I have been under stress the past couple weeks due to house renovations and both kids being sick. The last two days I’ve been so anxious and edgy and my mind is starting the repetitive racing. Is this being triggered by my recent stress and will die down on its own or is my magic dose not working anymore? I’ve been on 100mg for about 12 weeks. Please help! I was feeling great and I want it back
I took Zoloft for about six months. My psychiatrist also prescribed Xanax 2 mgs twice daily because of my anxiety. We also tried Trazodone but it didn't work well for me with Zoloft. I am currently on Clonazepam 1 mg twice daily for anxiety. I still have panic attacks but they're much milder and I can control them sometimes with deep breathing and distraction techniques.
But you have children which brings on additional anxiety. You may want to reevaluate your meds with your psyche professional. With the antidepressants I have taken, I always seemed to be doing okay for awhile and my body would get used to one and zap, they stopped working. My prescriber would have to either up the dosage and try another med or do a combination of antidepressants. It wasnt easy for awhile. Good luck.
Expect that you will not have a stress free life. Be glad that the AD works to bring you to a state where you can function. The setbacks you are experiencing are stressors for most and your med may not seem to be helping much but it may be.
