I was told by my pharmacist that the brand Klonopin was on back order and not know when it would be available. I received a partial script. I cant take the generic and is that also going to be discontinued?
I take the generic Klonopin but have found the TEVA brand generic to be the best and probably closest to the brand name of the med. You may want to ask your pharmacist if he/she could order the TEVA generic Clonazepam for you in the mean time?
Do you use a large chain pharmacy or a long established home-town type? I can normally order nearly anything through the latter... If you were using a big chain RX, they often do not have the ways & means to order specific brands.
Depending on where you live and which pharmacy you go to, there are medications that do go on back order, and as a pharmacy tech, we never know when the brand will be back in stock. So you can't take generic? If your DR. Writes brand only on Rx then go by that, but there's quite a few generic meds that work just as good as the brand, same ingredients, just the pharmaceutical company who first created the drug loses it's patent after 5-10 yrs. Some ppl think brand is better, I hope you find them soon, but don't go without the klonipin because that poses a risk for withdrawal and even seizures. Good luck.
