I had a brain CAT scan 14 years ago following a massive headache. Recently a brain MRI showed chronic microvascular changes. Would the CAT scan be a good baseline to look at long term changes?
If the CT from 14 years ago was performed with contrast it would be useful to show gross anatomical changes in the intervening period. An MRI is always going to show more detail but a CT a CT with contrast is excellent for imaging blood vessels and perfusion. What did the doctor say?
