Right now my doctor has me on Oxycodone 30mg for my migraines and I really want to get off those so my doctor suggested Botox Injections so what I want to know is DOES IT WORK?
YES, for me it has been a life saver. Especially if the daily preventative migraine meds haven't helped you, then you are very likely to be helped by the Botox injections. I would definitely give them a try. If they don't work the first time, then have the dose increased. And be sure to give it several tries.
I wouldn't know if Botox works for migraines because my insurance wouldn't cover it and the injections are way too expensive for me. I take Imitrex for my migraines, and I call it my miracle medicine! I get the 100 mg tablets and break them in half to save money as well as pills. You only get nine pills in a prescription, and the insurance company limits how many prescriptions you can have filled in a certain period of time.
I hope that you find the answer you're looking for and need. Believe me, I've been suffering from migraines since I was 12 years old so I do know how horribly painful and debilitating they are!
I wanted to add one thing that might give us all something to hope for. I have been suffering from migraine since I was 12 years old. My father suffered from migraines all his life, until he got older. I recall him going into his bedroom, turning the lights out, and lying down for hours with the pain. He was stubborn and refused to take any medication for them besides aspirin. Anyway, he stopped getting migraines when he was somewhere around his mid-70s. Most of us aren't there yet, but at least it's something to possibly look forward to!
