I have ms, fibromyalgia. cronic migrains
No. I have been getting them for 3 years & never needed a ride. I found a trick- if the MD wants to have u hold ice on your forehead prior to the injections, I found that I then got severe bruising. Better to do w/o ice until after. You may kind of have a headachy feel for the first 24 hours or so but not.too bad. Good luck! They have helped me immensely!
NO. Botox has no ill effect when it is used for migraines. I've been getting them for over 3 years and have never had a single ill effect. Very rarely you can get some neck weakness for a few days, which has never happened to me. And I usually get the side effects that only a few get. (I would wonder about the doctor giving the injections to the person above.) The first time, I got no relief from 100 units. So if that happens to you, you need to go back and get the dose increased. I'm now getting about 275 units. And you may need to give it several chances, as the good effects can take several times. And occasionally the Botox simply doesn't work. Other neurologists told me the same thing. If you have migraines at least 14 days of the month, there is a very good chance that it will help your migraines. And my injections take about 15 days to take effect. But others get help in as little as 5 days. Good luck with them.
I had Botox for migraines for years and never had any ill side effects. It works amazingly well but I no longer need Botox because my Dr put me on Topomax years ago and I rarely have a migraine since. It is a miracle drug. I used to have 2-3 migraines per week. Now I can hardly remember what they felt like. Good luck, Carol
