I am recently diagnosed with BPD. I have survived a suicide attempt with the help of life support. I would like to know as much about others & their treatment as I can to help manage this diagnosis. Thank you so much.
It really depends on what your actual symptoms are rather than the diagnosis. Ther are many good antidepressants that will help with the depression and with anxiety. The following link also lists possible medicines to consider: https://www.drugs.com/condition/borderline-personality-disorder.html
If you could discuss your symptoms a little more than we might be able to make further suggestions. They are just that though, only suggestions as everyone is different and what works for one may not work for another.
Hello my name is Amy-sarah, and son Chris. He is going to e the big 10 in June 22nd. Well I think I have been diagnosed with Borderline back in the teens, but I cant remember the whole thing, since I have very bad memory both short and long term... its quite sad and depressed actually. I just had a MRI, MRA, and EEG done, and nothing came back from it... unfort, i was hoping something so that would be an actual answer , soooooo now the shrinks have got to admit it IS mental and go from there. Anyway, sorry to just chat away, that what i do since i dont have any friends at all to unwind or unload to... seriously, NO friends what so ever, and not much support what so ever... my adoptive family in Connecticut, they dont have much emotions about it what so ever. My "father" is not emotional at all.
He is just like hows the weather type, and my "mother" is a bit more emotional but she doesnt want to hear the bad stuff, she has her own life her own stuff to keep her busy, denial. Oh well... they should have got a refund from the adoption agency... LOL. I wasnt their college go getter, marriage kind of kid.
well gotta go for now, the grump that my son and i have to live with to help me out financially and a ROOF ... he is here and nosey..so talk to u later.
I also have BPD and I am on Ativan which helps shut the power off to all the live wires that was me. I just started Limictal, which is helping with my mood swings (crying spells, door punching). I have been through the ringer finding what works, and these have been the best for me so far. If it ever comes up, for whatever reason, I highly reccomend avoiding Effexor like the plague! The withdrawl is likened to heroine withdrawl and it was the most torturous months of my Life... emotionally and physically! Hope that helps!
