I was wondering if anyone has had a positive experience with any medications in order to relieve obsessive thought/ behavior patterns related to BPD.
I have been prescribed lithium for my BPD but it does not appear to be capable of relieving severe obsessive behavior. I have taken sertraline in the past at fairly low doses with no affect either.
Thank you for your help and happy holidays.
I have similar conditions n been diagnosed with both n have taken quite a few different medications. I found that Prozac helps tremendously with obsessive, compulsive actions/behaviors. And medicines like "misspelled" ... Sinquan/Doxepin can help BPD. But it's not the same for everyone. What works for one might not work for another. Just don't give up,there is light at the end of the tunnel. It takes time n patience! And keep in mind... that you are not alone n U will get through this. Please give Us an update? Happy Holidays & GB
My friend and i went on a course for OCD which when broken down falls into (A)Intrusive thoughts usually of a weird sexual nature(B)hoarding (C)checking. From what i made out whilst it isn't pleasant having the thoughts we have many thoughts its when you act on these thoughts and that's the problem we worry about acting on them then it just goes into a cycle try to break the cycle,i sometimes clap my hands as i said its most important to break the cycle and of course being in AA there is always someone to share with, hope this has helped.
