... big and it's don't hurt. I was wondering if a boil can grow inward instead of outward?
Keep an eye on it and if it worsens or you start to run a fever you need to see a doctor!
The amount of pus that comes out after an incision is done is amazing. I is under the skin too especially fatty parts as is the back area.
Don't pinch it to remove drainage because it takes longer to heal. The doctor won't do it until it is hard and red. It has to come to a head before an incision and drainage will be most effective.
He will probably do a culture and start you on antibiotics when it's appropriate.
If you want to get a good idea of what they look like (I know it's on your back) go to You-tube and look under abscesses.
It's gross but look at the ones by done by doctors. It will give you an idea of what it looks like under the skin.
