Can your blood sugar levels increase with Effexor?

Hi, Sqizzy! Yes, Effexor and other antidepressants can cause metabolic imbalances including hyperglycemia, however the incidence is fairly rare.
Anyone taking any psych medications should have complete blood panels run at least once or twice a year. If you're diabetic or pre-diabetic your doctor will want to monitor you more closely.
Best wishes, WCV

I have been taking 75mg x2 daily for 3 months and it has not raised my sugar. I do however take Farxiga 5 mg. for my sugar and together I am actually losing weight with exercise 3-4 days per week (45min). My sugar now runs 96-114.
