I am a 16 year old female and at my latest check-up my blood pressure was 120/80, which my physician said was high for my age. I am 5/6 and 110 pounds so I am by no means overweight, and I run at least 5-7 miles a day for track so I am in good physical shape. My diet is okay (I don't eat fast food but I don't drink kale smoothies either) and not as healthy as it could be. My uncle and grandpa have high blood pressure, so could that be a factor in having a higher than average blood pressure? Also, will my blood pressure only increase over time? Thanks!
Your blood pressure is high/normal. You don't want it to go any higher than what it is now. Just have your doctor keep an eye on it. You can go to just about any Fire Station and have them take your blood pressure, try doing that for a few weeks and see if it's fluctuating at all.
