I already am on a drug called Losartan 50 mg. I am concerned about taking all these drugs. A test I had recently shows mild carotid artery disease. Mild plaque formation is seen. On the left minimal, on the right mild stenosis less than 50%. Another test I had for Peripheral Arterial Disease fell within the mildly abnormal range. ABI=0.70 - 0.90, I have also been told I need to take Lipitor 10 mg. I'm not so sure if I want to start either one of these 2 new drugs if it is not absolutely necessary. Please advise.
Lipitor/atorvastatin is used to lower the "bad" cholesterol or LDL losartan is an ARB or angiotension receptor blocker useful for for hypertension,,, metoprolol is a beta blocker useful for hypertension but may also lower your heart rate Talk to your physician and your pharmacist about your concerns
